If the word “tile” makes you think of beige floors and grout lines, congratulations—you’ve been traumatized by builder-grade bathrooms and lifeless backsplashes.
Tile should be the jewelry of your home. The wow moment. The “where did you get that?” feature that makes guests linger in your kitchen longer than they should.
At Texas Designer Flooring, we’re flipping the script on what tile can be. Whether it’s hand-painted Moroccan mosaics, textured matte subway tile, or a show-stopping custom shower wall, our boutique tile selection is made for people who are tired of boring. And yes—we design and install everything, too.
1. Builder Tile Is a Scam. You Deserve Better.
Look—we know “free upgrades” sound great when you’re building or buying a new home. But here’s the truth: builder-grade tile is made to check a box, not turn heads.
It’s often:
-
Mass-produced
-
Poorly installed
-
Cheap-looking within a year
-
The same three colors, over and over again
Translation: It doesn’t reflect you. It reflects their budget.
That’s why so many homeowners come to us post-purchase, saying:
“I just want something that looks... intentional.”
2. Boutique Tile Is Functional and Fabulous
You don’t have to choose between beauty and practicality.
Modern boutique tile is built for:
-
Kitchens that get cooked in
-
Showers that get used every day
-
Backsplashes that handle spaghetti splatter and look stunning on Instagram
And thanks to innovations in glaze, texture, and materials, tile today comes in:
-
Handcrafted ceramics
-
Marble & stone mosaics
-
Geometric concrete tiles
-
Metallic finishes, zellige textures, matte pastels—you name it
We source high-end, design-forward tile collections you won’t find in the aisle of a big-box store. If your dream bathroom lives in a boutique hotel in Austin or a Pinterest board from Spain—we’ve got tile for that.
3. Tile Isn’t Just for Bathrooms and Backsplashes Anymore
Sure, backsplashes and showers are the classics. But tile today is a full-on design moment—and we’re helping clients bring it into places you wouldn’t expect.
✅ Floor-to-ceiling fireplace tile for a dramatic focal point
✅ Custom tiled accent walls (yes, even in living rooms)
✅ Mudrooms with personality
✅ Entryways that say “this home is different”
✅ Laundry rooms that don’t feel like punishment
Tile’s not just for wet zones—it’s a texture, a pattern, a color story. It’s design in three dimensions.
4. Not Sure What You Like? That’s Where We Come In.
At Texas Designer Flooring, we don’t just stock pretty samples and send you on your way. We help you design your space around your lifestyle and your aesthetic.
What that means:
